The First Book: Celtic Twilight by W.B. Yeats
William Butler Yeats, best known as a poet and Nobel Prize winner, was also an important exponent of Irish folklore. Celtic Twilight is a work about the mysterious world of fairies, ghosts and spirits.
"This Handful of Dreams", as the author wrote, was first published in 1893 and its title refers to the hours before dawn when the Druids performed their rituals.
Yeats's faithful transcription of folklore stories includes his visionary experiences, added to the narrators' tales as heartfelt commentary.
